Spurs defender Woodgate: I'd rather go down in history as an FA Cup winner than finish fourth in the league

13 April 2012

Jonathan Woodgate would swap a Champions League tilt with Tottenham for another trophy next season.

Woodgate scored the winner in the Carling Cup final in February and before Sunday's final game against Liverpool, the 28-year-old defender said: "I'd take an FA Cup win.

"I know the club might disagree with me because they get more money if you finish fourth but it doesn't go down in history, does it?"
