Teenage sensation Cori Gauff pulled off an incredible comeback to beat Polona Hercog and reach the fourth round at Wimbledon.

The American teenager, who had already beat Venus Williams on her way to the third round, beat Polona Hercog 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 on Centre Court.

The 15-year-old found herself down by two match points at 5-2 in the second set but fought back valiantly to force a tiebreak.

With huge backing from the SW19 faithful, Gauff never looked back and forced a final set after finishing an astonishing 30-shot rally with a fabulous smash.

Gauff went from strength to strength, combatting Hercog's ultra-defensive tactics of constant backhand slices and went on the offensive.

The match-changing moment came when she snatched a break in the fourth game. The Slovenian came back valiantly from 4-1 down as the match carried on into the late evening.

After a gruelling three hours on court, Gauff clinched a remarkable comeback when at 6-5 up, Hercog faltered with the lob attempt at match point and the crowd roared in delight knowing the fairytale would continue.

She will face seventh seed Simona Halep in the fourth round as she aims to claim another victim in her sensational tournament.
