Traore to rescue for Blues

12 April 2012

Birmingham have signed Djimi Traore from Portsmouth on a three-month emergency loan deal.

The Mali defender, 28, has seen his chances limited at Fratton Park since moving to the club in January 2007.

Traore made more than 160 appearances for Liverpool and was in the Reds side that won the Champions League against AC Milan in 2005.

He will join Birmingham for the full 93-day period allowed under the rules of an emergency deal.
