Tulu prepares for Great North Cross Country run

Olympic champion Derartu Tulu will line up alongside arch-rival Gete Wami in the Great North Cross Country run later this month.

The Ethiopian, who regained her Olympic 10,000 metres crown in Sydney in September, has agreed to take on compatriot and last year's winner Wami in Consett on 30 December.

The African pair have dominated the World Cross Country Championships over the last six years, with three-time winner Tulu looking to regain her title from Wami, who has triumphed twice in the event herself.
