Tycoon still on track for Rovers takeover

13 April 2012

US tycoon Daniel Williams insists his plans for a takeover of Blackburn are still on track.

It had been claimed that Williams' other interests were leading him to consider pulling out of the deal.

But the Lancashire-born businessman is adamant that his consortium should be in charge to supply Rovers boss Mark Hughes with a transfer fund when the transfer window opens in January.

Williams said: "We are definitely still interested. We are still working behind the scenes to put everything together, and when we have done that, we will get back in touch with the club again.

"My personal plan is to try and get something done before January.

"At the moment, there's not a mad scramble to try and get something done because the transfer window has just closed, and because of that, people are assuming the deal is dead but that's not the case at all."
