Dimitar Berbatov goes into his debut vowing to prove he's the best in Europe.

The striker, who faces tomorrow following his controversial £30.75million move from Tottenham, has his sights on claiming the Ballon D'Or, awarded to the European Footballer of the Year.

The Bulgarian said: 'I will dream about winning the Golden Ball until I stop playing. When I set myself a target, I aim to reach it. With God's will, I'll achieve something big.'

Ryan Giggs has no doubt his new team-mate will be a big hit at Old Trafford.

"Berbatov is a Manchester United-type player," said the former Wales skipper. "For a big man he has a superb touch. But he also has a big personality."
