Velicka willing to walk away from Viking if Rangers come calling

13 April 2012

Andrius Velicka admits he would welcome a move to Rangers - little more than three months after quitting Hearts for Viking Stavanger.

The Lithuanian striker has been linked with a return to the SPL, with reports claiming Walter Smith is ready to pay around £1million for his services.

Viking have yet to receive an official approach from the Ibrox club but Velicka says he would relish the opportunity to play for Rangers.

Change of heart: Velicka (left) could be back in Scotland sooner than expected

"If it can happen, it will be amazing," Velicka told the Edinburgh Evening News.   "To play for Rangers would just be unbelievable.

"They are a big club in Europe and I think they are the best club in Scotland.   "I would be proud to get the chance to play for Rangers.

"I don't want to talk too much about this because I don't know anything yet."
