Vieira's out but Gilberto is back

14 April 2012

Gilberto Silva is set to make his first Arsenal start for six months in tomorrow's clash against Norwich as Patrick Vieira is ruled out with a hip injury.

Gilberto has been sidelined since mid-September with a back injury but, after three appearances for the reserves, he will start at Highbury tomorrow in Vieira's absence.

Thierry Henry has recovered from a calf problem, but Dennis Bergkamp (calf), Edu (hamstring) and Philippe Senderos (thigh) are all out.

Sol Campbell is fit again after a persistent ankle problem but is instead being lined up to play in the reserves on Monday night.

Manager Arsene Wenger is determined Arsenal beat Manchester United to second spot in the Premiership to avoid massive disruption to his summer plans.

Finishing third will mean Arsenal having to face a Champions League qualifier and, with the Gunners just two points behind United, Wenger said: "There is a danger that if you have one of those [qualifying] matches, they can be very tricky."
