Watford wait for international pair

Watford manager Ray Lewington was today hoping that midfielder Micah Hyde and striker Heidar Helguson returned safely from midweek international trips.

Helguson, who has scored three times in as many games since returning to the Watford first team, found the net in Iceland's 3-0 home win over Lithuania, while Hyde was due to return today, following Jamaica's marathon trip to play Japan.

Watford, meanwhile, hope to extend their unbeaten League run at Gillingham tomorrow and Lewington said today: "We've played the top six in the division away from home now and we haven't been beaten since 31 August at Norwich. I don't know if we can hang on to fourth spot but we'll give it a good try."

Lewington singled out central defender Sean Dyche for special praise. "He has to be one of my best-ever signings," he said. "He's a strong character and just what we need in the dressing-room."

With Paul Robinson back from suspension, the only doubt is striker Tommy Smith, who has a groin problem.
