Wise: I'll take the job if it's offered

Dennis Wise today revealed that he will accept the post of Millwall manager if it is offered to him.

The midfielder, 36, was put in temporary charge of the team following the sacking of Mark McGhee last month.

Wise has previously insisted he does not want to stop playing but today's comments indicate he could be persuaded become a player-manager.

His four-week caretaker spell, in which Millwall have taken seven points from three games, ends after Saturday's match at Norwich. Wise told the South London Press: "If chairman Theo Paphitis were to offer it to me, I would take it.

"I am sure that if Theo wants someone he will tell them. And if he wants to talk to us, we will take it from there.

"But there are certain things which need to be sorted out. It is not about money. I am not a greedy person and it can be resolved easily.

"It is more about how much could be invested in the team - and the futures of those players who are out of contract. That is very important - and I hope it will be decided, whoever is appointed.

"I know what I want and I know what I need to find out before we can go any further.

"I have enjoyed it and the lads have responded well and it is going very well. The game at Norwich on Saturday could well decide things."
