Charli XCX has been on a self-imposed media blackout as she works on her highly anticipated third album, but broke her silence to give the Standard an insight into what fans can expect next.

After a period of recording and “chilling” in Los Angeles, she made a rare London appearance DJing at her record label Warner Music and GQ’s summer party with Quintessentially.

The 24-year-old, inset, rose to fame in 2012 after featuring on the Icona Pop hit I Love It and had her own breakthrough two years ago with Boom Clap.

The pop star released her second EP Vroom Vroom at the beginning of the year, put out on her own record label.
