Ed Sheeran fans have vented their anger at touts who are selling his tour tickets for inflated prices.

Just minutes after tickets for the pop star’s new tour went on sale on face-value ticket platform Twickets, they appeared on secondary sites for as much as £1000.

Fans of the British singer/songwriter, who is rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury this year, hit out at the touts on Twitter after being left empty-handed.

“Your "beat the touts" ticket sale failed badly. Resale sites, even ticketmaster asking huge £. No hope for gutted genuine fans,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

Another posted: “Gutted I didn't get @edsheeran tour tickets. But even more angry how much ticket touts are selling them for. So badly wanted to go!”

A number of people said that they had spent the morning waiting in a queue for the limited number of tickets when they went on sale at 10am.

“Stayed up after a night on the ward to get @edsheeran tickets but sadly the touts win gutted,” a disappointed fan wrote on Twitter.

“Gutted sold out within two mins, a reasonable price of £70 but later the touts are selling them for £200. Will need to miss it,” posted another.

More tickets for the UK and Ireland legs of the star’s Divide tour are set to go on sale this Thursday, following confirmation of his tour dates last week.

Sheeran is set to play London’s O2 on May 1, 2, and 3, which will be his first major gigs in the capital since he became the first person to ever play Wembley Stadium without a band back in 2015.

He is set to play Newcastke, Mancgester, Nottingham and Birmingham in April.

Sheeran’s brand new album, Divide, will be released on March 3.
